Authorities in Miami-Dade County have apprehended seven additional women as part of an ongoing undercover operation targeting illegal activities at local massage establishments. The arrests, carried out by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, follow a similar operation just one day earlier that resulted in seven other women being taken into custody.
The women, ranging in age from 46 to 67 years old, appeared before Judge Mindy Glazer in bond court facing multiple charges including prostitution and operating a massage business without proper licensing. According to official arrest reports, the suspects allegedly offered sexual services to undercover detectives following massage sessions, with prices reportedly ranging between $50 and $150.
Among those arrested were Yaoying Lin, 58; Xiufen Lin, 51; Yan Xi, 48; Zixuan Wang, 46; Mei Hui Lin, 49; Quirong Xu, 67; and Hongli Ren, 63. The locations where the previous arrests occurred have been shut down following the first wave of the operation.
Defense attorney Paul Petruzzi successfully argued for his client Yaoying Lin’s charge to be reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor, citing her long-term residence in Miami, her marriage, and clean court appearance record. However, Petruzzi raised serious concerns about the handling of the case, suggesting either poor police work or potentially questionable motives behind the overnight detention and initial felony charge.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has declined to provide interviews or additional information regarding the ongoing undercover investigation at this time.
