U.S. authorities confirmed the arrest of Samuel Ramírez Jr., who had been listed among the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The capture was carried out through a joint operation involving U.S. agencies and Mexican government authorities.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the operation involved FBI agents working alongside Mexico’s Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC), the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM), and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Washington.

According to the FBI, Ramírez Jr. is accused of participating in the murder of two women on May 21, 2023. Following the killings, investigators believed the suspect had fled the United States to evade prosecution.

Authorities formally charged him with murder on May 24, 2023, and a federal arrest warrant was issued on November 14, 2025. Since then, federal agents had been actively searching for the suspect, who was considered a priority target for the bureau.

After his arrest in Mexico, Ramírez Jr. was transferred to Seattle, in the state of Washington, where he arrived from Mexico and was taken into federal custody. He is expected to face the charges related to the homicide case in U.S. court.

According to the FBI’s wanted notice, Ramírez Jr. was born on April 17, 1992, in California. His name had been added to the bureau’s list of the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, reserved for suspects considered among the most dangerous or high-priority individuals sought by federal authorities.

U.S. officials had offered a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his location and arrest. The detention marks a significant development in the investigation.
