FIFA published an update to its 2025 Global Transfer Report, confirming a new all-time record in professional football. Throughout the year, 86,158 transfers were completed, with total spending exceeding 3.08 billion—the highest figure ever recorded. In Concacaf, Major League Soccer (MLS) stood out the most.
According to the world’s top football governing body, for the first time in history global spending exceeded 0 billion, representing a 50% increase compared to 2024. This growth confirms the accelerated expansion of the international transfer market.
MLS and the United States lead the transfer market in Concacaf
In the breakdown by confederations, Concacaf was headlined by Major League Soccer (MLS) and the United States, which established themselves as the country and league with the highest number of signings and the largest investment in 2025, far surpassing other competitions such as Liga MX and the Guatemalan league.
According to the FIFA report, the United States recorded 457 transfers in 2025, with total spending of $367 million, representing a 15.4% increase compared to the previous year.

Liga MX lags behind MLS in spending and player transfers
Liga MX ranked second in CONCACAF, with 317 transfers recorded and approximately 02 million spent, a figure almost three times lower than the investment made by MLS.
This contrast reflects the growing financial strength and international appeal of the U.S. league, which continues to attract talent and bolster its rosters ahead of the upcoming seasons.
