U.S. President Donald Trump is set to meet with leading global business figures in Davos on Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the matter, a move expected to dominate attention at the annual gathering of the world’s political and economic elite in Switzerland.

Business leaders, including chief executives from the financial services, cryptocurrency, and consulting sectors, have been invited to a reception following Trump’s address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting, the sources told Reuters on Monday. While the exact agenda of the gathering has not been disclosed, the event is expected to bring together senior corporate figures from around the world.

One executive said their schedule simply listed “a reception in honor of President Donald J. Trump,” while another indicated that invitations appeared to extend beyond U.S.-based executives to include global corporate leaders. According to one source, the invitations were issued by the White House.

Anthony Scaramucci, an investor who briefly served as Trump’s communications director during his first term, confirmed that he was aware of the planned meeting. However, he said he would not attend. “I’m not going to go. I’m not sure I’m invited, but even if I were, I wouldn’t want to be a sideshow,” Scaramucci said.

Trump is expected to arrive in the Swiss alpine resort on Wednesday, where he is scheduled to deliver a special address to forum participants. His appearance is anticipated to draw significant attention amid heightened global interest in U.S. economic and geopolitical policy.

Several senior U.S. officials are accompanying the president, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, underscoring the importance the administration is placing on its presence at the forum.

In recent days, the World Economic Forum’s agenda has been partially overshadowed by Trump’s bold policy moves, including his renewed demand that the United States take control of Greenland. These statements have sparked debate among international leaders and added an element of unpredictability to discussions at Davos.
